Abstract

The bad habit of the people who often dispose of waste indiscriminately and waste management with the concept of open dumping, burning it (with an incinerator or just burning it), digging the lid (sanitary landfill) do not provide a good solution. To overcome the problem of waste, it is necessary to change the paradigm that views waste as a resource that has economic value and is utilized. This research is included in qualitative research and uses qualitative descriptive methods. The techniques used in collecting data are observation, interviews and documentation. The key informants in this study were the Head of the Carnation Garbage Bank, the manager of the Carnation Garbage Bank and the customers of the Carnation Garbage Bank. The results of the empowerment carried out by the Anyelir Garbage Bank are that people who become customers of the waste bank get benefits in the form of gold savings, and the community has the ability to process waste and knowledge about maggot caterpillar cultivation. . The supporting factors are the involvement of members, facilities and infrastructure, the involvement of the surrounding community and collaboration with other parties and the inhibiting factors are the currently available facilities, customer indiscipline, and the low mindset of the community. The community empowerment process through activities at the Anyelir Garbage Bank with The Gade Clean and Gold Program went well and received good appreciation.
