Abstract
Peloid therapy is an effective method of treatment known and used since ancient times to the present day. Ancient Egyptians, Romans, Greeks and Indians have used mud treatment for healing, restoration and beautification. Mud treatment was first mentioned in the Kahun papyri. Peloids consist of organic and inorganic substances formed over a very long period of time under the influence of biological, climatic and geological conditions. Peloids are an extremely valuable resource rich in biological and chemical ingredients, including ions, vitamins, trace elements, biologically active substances that have a beneficial effect on the body. Regardless of the type and composition of the mud, at the roots of peloid therapy lie many beneficial effects of the treatment itself. Peloids have a thermal, chemical and mechanical effect on the human body and the body area where they are applied. Nowadays, medical practitioners are increasingly paying attention to natural products that have powerful healing power and far fewer side effects that are detrimental to health. The aim of this article is to study the curative effect of peloid therapy and its application in medicine and cosmetics.
