Abstract

Bird watching in Rhepang Muaif is a form of sustainable ecotourism managed by local people. Joint with variety of birds, diversity of flora was also found in the protected area of village forest and these resources are main tools to attract the tourists. One of the basic elements cultural tourism is the availability of cultural facility, such as gallery or shows room. The availability of galleries or showrooms are the basic elements needed for this cultural tourism. The purpose of this training is to introduce the diversity of plant through collection of herbarium around the village. The PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) methods are used in this course, which is the local community become the main actors. The result showed that local people can make dry herbarium through the process such as pressing, drying, and handling. Herbs that can be made herbarium is consists of 17 family and 9 species, grouped into 4 species group of Liliopsida, and 13 species group of Magnoliopsida. Therefore, it can be conclude that 75% of society can understand how to make herbarium easily.Keywords: Bird watching, dry herbarium, ecotourism, training, Rhepang Muaif
