Abstract

The use of charcoal briquettes contributes to dependence on oil and gas fuels, especially for villagers while supporting the use of coconut shell waste as fuel. Generally, coconut shell waste has been used as charcoal fuel. However, the formation of coconut shell charcoal briquettes provides advantages over charcoal such as smokeless, clean and easy to pack. Furthermore, the use of coconut shell charcoal briquettes is in line with the solution to current global problems related to pollution, alternative energy and environmentally friendly technologies. Therefore, increasing understanding and awareness through the use of briquettes, especially for residents of Jayabakti village through training in the formation and use of coconut shell charcoal briquettes as fuel, needs to be carried out so that its functions and objectives are achieved. The training was carried out with approximately 20 participants involving members of the Jayabakti village. The training includes making coconut shell charcoal briquettes starting from removing the coconut shells, burning (pyrolysis), milling to printing and drying (drying). This program also fosters an entrepreneurial spirit in order to get great opportunities to see high business opportunities so that it can advance the economy in the region.
