Abstract

Mlaras Village is a village where most of the population live as farmers. One of the agricultural commodities produced in this village is sweet corn. However, the sales of sweet corn often do not cover the production costs. Because it is still sold in the form of fresh or dry corn. Therefore it is necessary to implement a community service program based on innovation of processed corn products as a superior commodity in Mlaras, one of which is by making processed products that have higher economic value and are attractive to be marketed in the form of milk and corn ice cream. The purpose of this community service program is to provide information and training on processing sweet corn into processed products (milk and corn ice cream) which have a higher economic value so that they can increase the use value of sweet corn, extend shelf life, and have the potential to contribute to increased income to the community. The method is carried out through a participatory approach with location survey activities and mapping the potential of the village, training in either theory or practice, monitoring and marketing preparation. The monitoring results showed that the participants were able to process corn into milk and corn ice cream along with its packaging and labeling. In addition, BUMDes Mlaras is very interested in funding these products so that they can become superior products.
