Abstract

PY 12 (SbF 6 ) 7 and PY 7 PY 4 (AsF 6 ) 4 (CH 2 Cl 2 ) 4 belong to the group of quasi-one dimensional organic conductors. Measurements of the microwave electrical conductivity show that both substances undergo a Peierls transition (metal-insulator transition) at about T P =116 K and T P =74 K, respectively. The 3D-locking of the Peierls transition was investigated by following the temperature dependence of the conduction band energy gap, which was calculated from measurements of the magnetic susceptibility.
