Abstract

Although class handouts are widely used instructional tools, their preparation rarely receives the time and effort merited. We carried out a study aimed at upgrading the class handouts making up the course guide for second year medical student Pharmacology. We used peer evaluation based on a ten-criterion standard evaluation instrument with feedback to responsible instructors. The novel evaluation instrument proved well adapted to our course and among tutors there was widespread acceptance of peer review of handouts.
