Abstract

ACM's Special Interest Group on University Computer Centers (SIGUCC) has instituted a program to foster peer reviews among computing centers. That program is conceived as giving external advice and guidance to computer center directors, and is an appropriate mechanism for certain classes of need. However, at SUNY - Albany peer or external review is used in quite a different way--one integrally bound to the planning process. This paper describes our strategy and methodology in that context.
