Abstract

The solution to the problem posed by laryngotracheal stenosis, either congenital or acquired, together with deficient breathing and swallowing consequences and communication alteration due to vocal cord damage, have been and continue to be a challenge for endoscopists and surgeons.A correct diagnosis based on complete clinical file, physical examination, conventional radiology and a tomography as well as an endoscopic evaluation using laryngoscopes, bronchoscopes, a rigid rod lens telescope system and video-endoscope system will enable us to select the correct procedure for a successful outcome. These different procedures, whether endoscopical or surgical, will be evaluated after observing the type of stenosis (hard or soft) and their extension and degree.
