Abstract

In the third edition of his popular book on pediatric cardiology, published nine years after the second edition, Nadas has invited the collaboration of his colleague and associate, Dr. Donald Fyler. Together they have brought the book up to date, retaining its basic structure as well as the personal touch that made it so attractive and popular. While the total number of pages is less than the last edition, the scope and length has actually increased because of the change to the two-column page format. The number of illustrations has been increased from 527 to 579 and the number of references from 766 to 1,268. As in the last edition, the book consists of 17 chapters and is divided into three parts: the tools of diagnosis, acquired heart disease, and congenital heart disease.
