Abstract

The aim of this paper is to research the causes of the difficulties that Polish teachers encounter when studying the basic problems of the present. I draw attention to the difficulties in the interpretation of the mission and vision of modern education, including the methodology of the study. These issues are related to the ambiguity of the positions on the adopted meta assumptions, including the primacy of human over education. The position in relation to the adopted model of man is also missing. Civilization transformations generate many new problems which need to be consideved in the research, among other things, redundancy and diversity of information sources, reconstruction of axiological system. This results in the problem of the studies being undertaken.
