Abstract

Interest in health in educational sciences has a long tradition. Every historical era brings records of hygiene, disease prevention and body care. The classic concept of social pedagogy encourages to take actions aimed at developing permanent hygienic and cultural habits, appropriate attitudes towards health, and individual and collective action (including those related to health). The current century has initiated a “new” educational thinking whose aim is to change individual behavior as well as social activity, in which a health educator should participate. The challenges of the present day require the ability to consider and make the right choices, including health ones, indicating that the modern world urgently needs universal health education, which must be implemented by competent pedagogues.
