Abstract
The article presents an overview of International scientific and pedagogical Symposium “Image of Russia in international educational space: Euro-Asian vector”, which was held on November 27–28, 2020 at Ural State Pedagogical University (Russia, Ekaterinburg), Jilin University of International Studies (China, Changchun), Osh Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute (Kyrgyzstan, Osh). The activities of the Symposium were carried out at different sites. The third all-Russian scientific conference with international participation “Cognitive strategies of philological education in Russia and abroad” dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of N. S. Trubetskoy was held within the framework of the scientific platform (the conference included a plenary session and two breakout sessions). The scientific and pedagogical platform included two foreign sections: “Theory and practice of teaching Russian in China; Theory and practice of translation” (based on Jilin University of International Studies, China, Changchun) and “Theory and practice of teaching Russian in Central Asia” (based on Osh Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute, Kyrgyzstan, Osh). The discussion platform included two round tables “Image of Russia in the aspect of Eurasianism concept” and “Theory and practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language as seen by young researchers” (Ural State Pedagogical University, Ekaterinburg, Russia). The Symposium was attended by more than sixty people in full-time, distance and correspondence forms from six countries (Belarus, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Uzbekistan) and eleven Russian cities (Astrakhan, Ekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Kemerovo, Moscow, Orenburg, Surgut, Tomsk, Tyumen, Ulan-Ude, Chelyabinsk). The symposium participants, Russian language University and school teachers from different universities and educational centers around the world, summarized the experience of teaching Russian as a foreign language in Russia and abroad in scientific reports and presentations at round tables; considered a variety of connections of national literature schools, as well as trends of languages and cultures contemporary development; discussed the most pressing issues of linguodidactics, methods of teaching languages and literature in polycultural and polylingual education; discussed the perspectives of language education strategies improvement in global educational space to meet modern conditions, such as the social demand for distance learning development.
