Abstract

This paper is addressed to the serious producer (either present or future) of computer-based or interactive videodisc learning material. It is not aimed at the casual producer. Very few individuals can develop good computer-based learning material, in any substantial quantity, as a casual activity. It is a serious activity demanding time, effort and resources. The low quality of much of the existing commercial and noncommercial material shows the difficulty of trying to view such production as a “spare time” activity. I will use “computer” in this paper to include interactive videodisc, the combination of the computer and the videodisc or compact disk player.
