Abstract

The dynamic properties of domain structures and domain walls (DW) are studied in single-crystal FeBO3, YFeO3 platelets and iron garnet films. A simple and sensitive method is proposed to measure the vibration amplitude x0 at high frequencies (up to 150 MHz) – the method of magnetooptical detection (MOD). The critical domain wall velocities and the conditions of interference of elastic waves due to the wall vibrations are determined by means of the MOD. The phenomenon of antisymmetric vibration (AV) of domain walls is discovered and studied by this method. It is found that the AV phenomenon is associated with the high-frequency field and there are critical frequencies above which the domain walls are forced to vibrate antisymmetrically.
