Abstract

Abstract A new distribution map is provided for Peanut clump virus (PCV). Pecluvirus. Hosts: foxtail millet ( Setaria italica ), groundnut, sorghum ( Sorghum arundinaceum and S. bicolor ) and sugarcane ( Saccharum officinarum ). Information is given on the geographical distribution in Asia (India, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Pakistan), Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sudan). The virus is transmitted by the plasmodiophorid fungus, Polymyxa graminis , and is also seedborne in groundnut. PCV causes the sugarcane red leaf mottle disease in S. officinarum .
