Abstract

This paper presents a possible utilization of Two-Dimensional Complete Complementary Codes (2D-OCCC) in Orthogonal Frequency and Code Division Multiplexing (OFCDM) systems. Variable Spreading Factor OFCDM (VSF-OFCDM) systems stem from high values of observed Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). The aim of the paper is to evaluate the PAPR values when 2D-OCCC approach is utilized. Complementarity of the codes is achieved by the transmission of corresponding elements in separate sub-channels. Two scenarios based on different order of 2D-OCCC inspired by the IEEE 802.11p physical layer design are proposed and the PAPR characteristics are evaluated. It is shown that under certain conditions, CCDFs (Complementary Cumulative Distribution Functions) of PAPR are better than the non-spread OFDM and VSF-OFCDM.
