Abstract

We measured the magnetic properties of the mixed states focusing particularly on the peak effect for two melt-textured GdBa2Cu3O7-y bulk samples with different transition temperatures (Tc=72, 90K) in the configuration of H//c axis. High-resolution transmission electron microscopic analysis gives electron diffraction patterns; the almost tetragonal structure for TC=72K sample, and the orthorhombic structure for TC=90K one. We found that the result of magnetic Jq in the almost tetragonal sample was indicated two peaks. On the other hand, the orthorhombic sample was exhibited one peak. These results indicate the responsibility of structure correlation and domains can act as channels for the vortex motion in the melt-textured GdBa2Cu3O7-y bulk samples.
