Abstract

Pd0 cluster-modified porous FeVO4 nanorods were synthesized by a hydrothermal–chemical reduction route. The Pd0-modified porous FeVO4 nanorods exhibit an enhanced selective gas sensing property for benzyl alcohol detection at 160 °C in comparison with the pure FeVO4. Moreover, Pd0-modified porous FeVO4 nanorods show a lower detection limit and higher reliability than the pure FeVO4. The significant enhancement in gas sensing property of Pd0-modified porous FeVO4 nanorods is attributed to the formed porous structure and efficient electron-hole separation resulted from the deposition of Pd0 nanoclusters.
