Abstract

We recently reported on the development of a new method, called OPUF, for deriving value sets (=QALY-weights) for the EQ-5D-5L instrument. In contrast to established methods, such as time trade-off or discrete choice experiments, the OPUF approach does not require hundreds of respondents, but allows estimating utility functions for small groups and even on the individual person level. The objective of this study was to apply the OPUF approach in a large, representative sample of the UK population.
