Abstract

Sivaraman, G.K. and Kumar, S. 2005. PCR-RFLP in BL-βII region of MHC of divergent broiler chicken lines based on immunocompetence index. J. Appl. Anim. Res., 28: 81–84. DNA polymorphism at BL-βll region of MHC was studied in 20 birds (10 from each of 2 lines and 5 of either sex) at high and low extremes of IC-index using specific primers. An amplicon of 267 bp obtained in each sample, was digested with three restriction enzymes (RE) viz., Hae III, Msp I and Taq I, individually. The PCR-RFLP of BL-βII with these REs revealed similar and monomorphic patterns in the divergent IC-index lines. The analysis revealed that the RE sites of the enzymes employed in this study were monomorphic in the divergent lines.
