Abstract

A discriminating fingerprinting system is described for Cryptococcus neoformans isolates in which random amplification of polymorphic DNA by the polymerase chain reaction is achieved with a single short primer, 5′-GCGCACGG-3′. DNA from 12 isolates was examined and gave rise to 12 distinct fingerprints.
