Abstract

A method for uniformly measuring the process quality including process centering, quality loss, and process defective ratio is presented in terms of Cp and k. Based on this uniform measure, a new concept, PCI-based tolerance, has been developed as the predetermined statistical tolerance zone which can be used as an interface between design specifications and SPC to achieve predictable quality assurance in manufacturing production.
