Abstract

Herein, a complete bio-based biodegradable plastic with excellent properties was fabricated based on Poly (butylene sebacate-co-terephthalate) (PBSeT) and lignin. Moreover, a biodegradable epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) was used as the compatibilizer through the ring-opening reaction between ESO and the hydroxyl groups of lignin and PBSeT during the reactive extrusion. The results show that the plastics had excellent properties, the tensile strength and the elongation at break could reach 13.04 MPa and 328.33 %, respectively. Moreover, the addition of lignin endowed PBSeT with good UV resistance. Conclusively, this strategy expands the application of lignin in the degradable polyester matrix and broadens the application of lignin accordingly.
