Abstract

There is increasing interest in and understanding of the role of fungi in the pathogenesis of complex diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Li etal.1 have shown that specific strains of Candida albicans preferentially produce pro-inflammatory phenotypes that could be related to IBD.
