Abstract

This paper reports patterning of magnetic particles using localized magnetic field gradients in micro-channels for the realization of multi-biosensors. We aim to develop multi-biosensors, which are an array of bio-image sensors detecting multiple biomarkers for establishing a simple diagnostics method of diseases. We developed a device and achieved patterning of magnetic particles based on induced localized magnetic field gradients. Magnetic particles were transported to ferromagnetic blocks embedded in a micro-channel, where localized strong magnetic field gradients were generated around the blocks. Our developed method is a fundamental approach for realization of multi-biosensors.
