Abstract

When adult female Japanese beetles, Popillia japonica Newman, are collected from the field and held in the laboratory, they will oviposit for several days. However, the fecundity declines with age. We attempted to determine how long field-collected adults should be held in the laboratory when they are to be used to obtain eggs for a rearing program.
