Abstract

We present the case of a 23-year-old woman with juvenile onset systemic lupus erythematous on a background of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, who was referred for 18 F-FDG PET CT scan due to pyrexia of unknown origin with raised inflammatory markers, severe thrombocytopenia, and anemia. An interesting pattern of predominantly photopenic hypometabolic bone marrow activity was demonstrated on 18 F-FDG PET CT.
