Abstract

The paper propose the reflection about the way the city growth over the existing one (as the framework of transformation) and the way to conserve the industrial heritage goods through its re-use.These places (coming from the industrial activities) are themselves the urban memory and they become brown fields (urban transformation spaces) and can be recognize as an important component of the strategic planning. The research Project highlights the presence of unique territorial elements(as marks) that denote the presence of a cultural landscape. These marks –identity elements– stand as connections aimed at fixing the incoming urban and territorial projects. The study of the marks andtheir classification allows recognizing both inner marks and those in relation to their role regarding the connection system. The study-case taken into consideration refers to the production’s landscapes (as a tool to revalue the territory’s identity) in Rosario city and its Metropolitan area. The recent urban transformation´s process refers to the new role the industrial heritage acquires in the regional and local development.
