Abstract
Abstract Examines various traditions in Judaism regarding the post‐mortem fate of the person in Heaven and/or Hell and the immortality of the soul. Selected sources include the Hebrew Bible, the Talmud, midrashim, and other rabbinic texts. The discussion is focused on the ways in which Jewish traditions have portrayed the after life and its moral dimensions, especially the rewards of virtue and the punishment of sin.
