Abstract

Cardiovascular Modeling In article number 2001169 by Holly D. Bauser-Heaton, Vahid Serpooshan, and co-workers, the integration of 3D bioprinting and perfusion bioreactor technologies is utilized to develop patient-specific 3D models of the developing human heart. This study demonstrates the use of hydrogel-based functional models, as a research enabling platform, to study the cellular function and response to flow during the normal heart development and underlying diseases.
