Abstract
Purpose: A partial breast irradiation technique using 103Pd permanent breast seeds implant (PBSI) has been tested in a prospective Phase I/II trial and is currently offered in a multicenter Registry trial. When the protocol was developed some collaborators expressed concerns that patients might refuse having radioactive material permanently implanted into their breast. The objective of this study was to describe patient's satisfaction with the treatment and fear of radiation exposure for themselves and their family after PBSI.
