Abstract

(Can J Anesth/J Can Anesth. 2019;66:1194–1201) There are multiple obstetric and anesthetic complications related to cesarean delivery (CD), including infection, postoperative pain, postdural puncture headache, and nerve injury. Because of the high prevalence of CDs in Canada, it is critical to ensure optimal preoperative preparation, provide relevant patient education, and monitor postoperative complications. The goal of this study was to design a mobile application to enhance the perioperative care of elective CD patients using input from both patients and anesthesiologists.
