Dr Sanatani is a medical oncologist at the London Regional Cancer Program at Victoria Hospital. Interested in general medicine, he changed routes to medical oncology. I’m a medical oncologist at the cancer clinic here in London. I took a bit of a circuitous route to come here: I started off in biochemistry, but I wanted something immediate where I could get the sense I was doing something meaningful, so I switched over to medicine very late in my educational path. I faint when I see blood, so I’m sort of limited from specialties in that way. This was something I could do, and it gave me a sense of having a purpose that people could benefit in that moment
