Abstract
In this interview feature, Mireya Loza, an associate professor of history at Georgetown University, outlines her start in oral history with the Bracero History Project, as she painstakingly polished her interviewing skills. Loza played a central role in the Bracero History Project, a collection of recorded interviews with more than eight hundred oral histories from the United States and Mexico. Loza acknowledges the mentorship of other oral historians and raises her concerns about accessibility and the future of community oral history projects.
