Abstract

Here, we discuss the findings from and high‐level recommendations of an IUCN‐commissioned review on youth engagement and intergenerational partnership. Our study demonstrates that youth involvement in global conservation efforts at the international scale has grown dramatically over the past several years, with efforts to foster involvement at different levels and locales. The numerous and complex interconnections resulting from this increased involvement have yet to be standardized or subject to best practices. However, efforts by different actors to promote youth engagement and intergenerational partnership have now created new institutional spaces for such actors to assume leadership roles.
