Abstract

Pancreatic cystic lesions are being recognized with increasing frequency due to the development of imaging technologies. Pancreatic cystic lesions can be divided into neoplasms and non-neoplasms, and neoplasms can be further categorized as epithelial and non-epithelial tumors depending on the cells of origin. A significant percentage of pancreatic cystic neoplasms have malignant potential and surgical resection is mandatory. To make the proper decision regarding the management of pancreatic cystic neoplasms, it is important to understand the clinicopathologic features of these tumors. (Korean J Med 2014;87:270-278)
