Abstract

Black spore masses were found attached to the seeds of rice variety PR 126 in Punjab state of North India. The fungus was morphologically identified as Myrothecium sp. Molecular identification confirmed the fungus to be Albifimbria terrestris. The pathogenicity of A. terrestris was proved underfield conditions.
