Abstract

Early postoperative inflammatory small bowel obstruction (EPISBO), an intestinal obstruction, can be caused by mechanical and dynamic factors of edema and effusion of the intestinal wall, injury and aseptic inflammation after the early post-operation of abdominal surgery. A comprehensive understanding of the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestation, diagnosis and treatment of this disease can help decrease the incidence and improve the cure rate.
