Abstract

Actinic keratosis (AK) is a kind of superficial skin disease occurring at sun-exposed sites. The occurrence of AK is associated with long-term ultraviolet radiation-induced gene mutations, oxidative stress, inflammation, immunosuppression, impaired apoptosis, dysregulation of cell growth, proliferation and tissue remodeling. Currently, the treatment of AK mainly includes lesion-directed and field-directed therapies. Lesion-directed therapies include cryotherapy, ectomy and lasers, and field-directed therapies include externally applied agents such as fluorouracil, imiquimod, diclofenac, ingenol mebutate, tretinoin, and photodynamic therapy. Key words: Keratosis, actinic; Therapeutic uses; Freezing; Fluorouracil; Photochemotherapy
