Abstract

For two long‐range paths in the Atlantic, extensive data sets are available both for fixed source to fixed receiver multipath structures, and for sound velocity profiles along the paths. The sound velocity data have been used in range‐dependent ray computations in an attempt to identify the observed multipaths. Data and computations are presented, along with the results of a special study of the sensitivity of computed multipath structure to range dependence in measured profiles.
