Abstract

This chapter presents a unique and controversial South African sex positive case study of a father who masturbates his profound disabled son, his campaign around this and the community and society’s mixed reactions towards it due to different interpretations of ethics, consent and the law around this case. It highlights the lack of access to disability sexuality information, support and disability sexual rights and provides various recommendations for consideration to improve disability sexuality assistance on various levels, especially for people with profound disabilities who cannot masturbate themselves or develop intimate partnered sexual relationships due to the severity of their disability.
