Abstract
Regarding parental influence on sexual behavior and intention to engage in sexual behavior in adolescents, there are several gaps in the literature. Few studies have examined the influence of parental psychological control and multiple indicators of parental influence were seldom used in a single study. Besides, few researchers have investigated the relative contribution of paternal and maternal influences to adolescent sexual behavior and there are few longitudinal studies in the field. Related scientific studies in different Chinese communities are almost non-existent.
