Patent Update: Pulmonary-Allergy, Dermatological, Gastrointestinal & Arthritis: Anti-inflammatory patent highlights from July 1994 to April 1995

Abstract

This update reviews the anti-inflammatory patent literature published between July 1994 and April 1995. Patent literature which claims a specific mechanism of action potentially applicable to the treatment of any inflammatory disease state is included. Subject matter for the review is divided into the following sections: leukotriene biosynthesis inhibitors and antagonists, cyclooxygenase and dual 5-LO/CO inhibitors, platelet-activating factor receptor antagonists, phospholipase inhibitors, protein kinase C inhibitors, tachykinin antagonists, tissue destructive proteinase inhibitors, cytokine synthesis inhibitors and antagonists, phosphodiesterase inhibitors, immunosuppressive agents and cell-cell adhesion inhibitors.
