Abstract

Abstract This article discusses current issues in Pastoral Care and Counselling from an Asian perspective, with specific attention paid to Singapore. Relationships between psychological theory and practice and pastoral ministry in terms of the role of therapeutic conversations in Pastoral Care are explored. Specific therapeutic attitudes and approaches are discussed as they relate to pastoral ministry. The affect of various global trends in pastoral ministry on churches in Asia is also discussed.
