Abstract
We achieved passively Q-switched ytterbium-doped (Yb3+-doped) fiber laser based on ReSe2 saturable absorber (SA) with mechanical exfoliation method. In addition, we obtained the Q-switched pulse generation with a repetition rate in the range of 31.6–68.7 kHz and a pulse duration in the range of 3.77–2.87 μs when the pump power increased from 50 mW to 100 mW. The corresponding single pulse energy varied from 49.72 nJ to 81.62 nJ. As a result of ReSe2 excellent saturable absorption property, it can be used as an effective SA for ultrafast fiber lasers.
