Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Indonesian Capital Market. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics by comparing the Indonesia Composite Index (ICI) growth, market capitalization, transaction volume, investors, total securities ownership, and value trading per month during 2020 and comparing them to 2019. The results show that the COVID-19 pandemic affects the growth and development of the Indonesian capital market during 2020 in the January-November period when compared to the previous year in the same period. The analysis results show that the ICI, market capitalization, transaction volume, trade value, and total securities ownership grew negatively during 2020 in the January-November period when compared to the same period in the previous year. However, amidst the negative growth of the Indonesian capital market, there is good news, namely that the number of the individual investors has increased during 2020 in the January-November period.
