Abstract
Summary This article examines the literature to try to discover the extent to which practice in educational psychology actually matches the rhetoric about partnership. The barriers to a more equal relationship are scrutinised with reference to the particular model for change in professional practice offered in 1987 by the Association of Educational Psychologists Working Party on Racism.
