Abstract

Contents of uranium in mineral fractions from some basic rocks and peridotite nodules have been measured. It appears that peridotite nodules range in uranium content, between 4.8 · 10 −2 to 8.2 · 10 −3 p.p.m. Uranium content in olivines ranges between 4.8 · 10 −2 to 1.2 · 10 −3 p.p.m. These values reflect the chemical fractionation occurring in magmatic processes.
