Abstract

Sports practice in adapted sports has increased in recent years. The increase in participants is associated with a higher risk of adverse events. Even though the benefits of exercise outweigh the risks, it is vital to pay attention to medical issues when training these athletes. Diverse sports and different types of disability will have different needs, which need to be recognized and addressed. The purpose of this article is to describe the most common medical issues in adapted sports in relation to different clinical syndromes.
